i’m a jerk… that doesn’t always proofread

August 21, 2010

I’m apartment hunting.  Floor plans are important to me.  One complex I’m researching online is obviously overhauling their website and does not have images available online- so I fill out the request form and ask if a floor plan can be emailed to me.  The following is 100% true and word for word (minus identifying [...]

thou shalt not save bridesmaid dresses **UPDATED**

June 1, 2010

Today I decided to give my closet a massive heave-ho.  Maybe once every couple years or so this mood hits, and I really purge out stuff.  I’ve been beyond frustrated lately with my serious commitment to the Insanity workouts (not joking here- cardio 6 days a week for 5 weeks now)… with no visible results. what’s the life expectancy of a blender, anyway?

May 5, 2010

In a calamitous event on the afternoon of Tuesday, May 4th, 2010, the pitcher from the avocado green Hamilton Beach blender circa 1970-something suffered a fatal injury.

i hated p90x

April 26, 2010

cringe-worthy

March 13, 2010

Cringe
verb
1 she cringed as he bellowed in her ear: cower, shrink, recoil, shy away, flinch, blench, draw back; shake, tremble, quiver, quail, quake.
2 it makes me cringe when I think of it: wince, shudder, squirm, feel embarrassed, feel mortified.
The second entry is our focus today.  None of those other words seem to properly convey what cringe does so succinctly.  (Mortification is a good one as well, but it doesn’t have the same physical connotation as cringe.)
We’ve all [...]

my green thumb, part duh

February 21, 2010

I present to you a brief follow up to the guest post My Green Thumb I wrote for my friend’s blog .  If you’ve read it you’ll know I recently bought the awesome new book, Grow Great Grub, by Gayla Trail (who has a blog about gardening that I really enjoy) and I was all excited about [...]
